Eddie is a Myrtle Beach wills lawyer and senior partner who manages the firm’s estate, probate, and trust department. Eddie’s practice is focused on the representation of both individuals and businesses in all tax and estate planning and transactions. He and his staff perform complex transactions, establish conservation easements, manage estate administration, and create and administer trusts.
Eddie was born in Manchester, CT while his father was on assignment during World War II. Following the assignment, he and his family returned home to Florence, South Carolina and later moved to Columbia, where Eddie grew up. Eddie was a member of the first graduating class of A.C. Flora High School.
In 1967, Eddie graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s degree. While a student, Eddie was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity.
In 1971, Eddie graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he participated in an internship program with the Internal Revenue Service. Following graduation, Eddie worked for the I.R.S. as an associate attorney while also attending Tax School at the University of Miami, where he earned his LL.M. in taxation in 1974.
Eddie remained employed with the I.R.S. in Miami until 1976. Eddie then returned to South Carolina to join the firm, which then became known as Bellamy, Rutenberg, Epps, Gravely, & Bowers.
Eddie has served on the Board of Directors of the Dunes Golf and Beach Club and Pawleys Plantation Country Club, and he is an avid outdoorsman and golfer. He and his wife live in Pawleys Island.
